Bio

After attending the High School of Art and Design in New York City, Andrea Huffman moved to Florida and received a Master’s in Art Education from Florida International University. She taught art in Broward County Schools, retiring in 2011 to pursue her own art practice. Since then she has exhibited locally and nationally, receiving numerous awards for her work. Ms. Huffman received several Artist Support Grants and in 2011 and was selected as one of two Florida art educators for the State Teachers Artist in Residence program at the Hermitage Artist Retreat in Sarasota, awarded through Florida Alliance for Arts Education. Ms. Huffman was an Artist in Residence at Bailey Contemporary Art in Pompano from 2018-2022, where she taught and exhibited. She continues to share her passion for art through new teaching opportunities, including the Boca Museum of Art, the Coral Springs Museum of Art and Business for the Arts, Broward. Ms. Huffman is a member of several arts organizations, and is co-founder of 6 Hands Collaborative, where she creates, exhibits, curates, and teaches art in collaboration with other artists.
