As people made long, arduous journeys to start new lives in distant lands, they had to make difficult choices about what they brought with them. I have become intrigued with the objects they chose to bring with them, and the stories about these objects. Our memories are often deeply entwined with the objects we surround ourselves with. Whether utilitarian, or decorative, the personal connections placed on objects become part of the narratives of peoples' lives.
